I’m always looking for ways to make my holiday tables more fun and delicious. I was inspired by the amazing folks at Orson Gygi (one of my favorite baking/kitchen stores EVER!) to make these adorable rolls. I serve these for a fun, less formal Easter luncheon for my kiddos! They love them and it makes the holiday extra special when I add special touches like this! It’s definitely something that creates those fun family memories!
They are really so simple to make. Start by using a super yummy dinner roll recipe, like my Crescent Dinner Rolls. This is also called my Master Roll Dough, because I have COUNTLESS uses for it! Not only do I use it for the most delicious and beautiful Crescent Rolls ever, but I also use it for Cinnamon Rolls and several other kinds of yummy sweet rolls! It’s fluffy and buttery – the PERFECT roll recipe!!
How to make Easter Crescent Roll Carrots
You’ll need these cream horn molds. They are typically used for cream filled pastries, but will be the perfect tool to create the space inside the carrot roll to fill later. You’ll bake the dough with the mold, and wait for the roll to cool before removing. I found mine on Amazon. You could also make your own molds out of paper and aluminum foil, just like I did for my Disneyland Bacon Mac and Cheese Cones.

After your dough has rested, and you’re read to get started, go ahead and preheat your oven so that you can bake those rolls as soon as they are ready. When wrapping your dough around the mold, start at the pointy tip and turn the mold as you wrap it with the dough, making this beautiful spiral design. Leaving a bit of the mold exposed at the top makes it easier to handle when coloring and removing after they’ve cooled.

It also helps to have parchment for easy clean up. Also, unless you don’t mind having slightly orange fingers, it’s also a good idea to wear rubber or latex gloves to keep your hands clean. Using a silicone brush is the perfect tool for brushing on the orange coloring. Hold the mold with one hand while coloring all sides of the dough. Place it on the parchment to bake with the seam side down to prevent it from unrolling as it bakes.

Recipe Overview
- Divide dough into 2 & 1/2 ounce dough balls
- Gently roll them into 12 inch ropes
- Using a cream horn mold and starting at the tip, wrap the dough along the mold and pinch the dough at the end, sealing it
- Brush the dough with orange food coloring, mixed with water
- Bake on parchment lined baking sheet and bake
- Allow to cool and fill with your favorite chicken salad or egg salad
- Insert parsley stem at the top to complete the carrot!

There’s really so many things you could fill these rolls with, but my favorite is chicken salad. They’re just so adorable! Using my Crescent Roll recipe will definitely make these sooo yummy! This special festive treat will make such a fun, memorable Easter holiday!
