Instructions

  1. Mix my Crescent Dinner Roll dough, cover and let rise until doubled in size.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  3. Prepare baking sheet by lining with parchment.
  4. Divid dough into 12 dough balls (weighing about 2 & 1/2 ounces each).
  5. Roll dough into 12 inch ropes.
  6. Starting at the tip of the mold, wrap the dough around the mold while turning it, making a spiral design. Pinch the end of the dough together to seal.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the food coloring and water. Brush it onto the dough on all sides. Place on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down.
  8. Bake for 16-17 minutes.
  9. Allow to cool before gently removing the mold.
  10. Fill with your favorite chicken salad and top with a sprig of parsley.

Notes

  • Using a few pastel colors is also such a cute look. Dilute the food coloring with an additional 1-2 teaspoons for a lighter color.
  • Piping the chicken salad in with a pastry bag is a quick and clean way to get the entire roll filled.
