Cream Cheese Frosting

This decadent frosting is the perfect topping for Sweet Rolls! It’s absolutely rich and creamy! This recipe will frost two dozen rolls. 

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened* 
  • 1 1/2 cups butter, softened (3 sticks)**
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 lbs. powdered sugar
  • 12 Tablespoons milk

Instructions

  • With electric mixer, beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla until smooth. Gradually mix in powdered sugar. Add just enough milk for desired consistency. Frosting should be a creamy, whipped texture. 

Notes

  • *use 8 ounces of cream cheese if you like a rich cream cheese flavor
  • **use salted or unsalted butter, depending on your preference
  • Frosting Sweet Rolls while still warm will result in a more glazed topping. Waiting to frost until they have completely cooled will give you a whipped, creamy topping. 
  • Store in refrigerator for up to two weeks or freeze for up to two months. Allow to come to room temperature before frosting.
